SCDS Lite™ (Affordable Windows Server Version) - NOW AVAILABLE !! January 27th, 2008 Newspapers that cannot afford the expenditure of expensive infrastructure hardware or do not have the internal technology resources to support such a system, now have an option. The Single Copy Delivery System is now available for multiple editions of Microsoft Windows Server. Using the same software as deployed on our Enterprise Class UNIX servers and the same hand held software, ASC is now able to provide a complete Single Copy system to clients for a fraction of the investment of an Enterprise class system. See SCDS Feature Chart for additional information. The number of devices you require to collect all of your delivery information and the performance you expect from a Windows based system are the only considerations. February 7th, 2007 SCDS application consolidation results in lower pricing for Enterprise Platform releases. Latest Release 3.01 now has a single version of code, resulting in lower costs for the end customer. Additional reports have been added that are automatically e-mailed in PDF format to field managers. Included are: "Close Out Logs", indicating the time and date the user completed and accepted delivery information for the day, and "Edition Specific draw/return information by ZONE. A Zone consists of multiple routes across a specific demographic. December 12th, 2006 Release 3.0 is now certified on the SOLARIS 10® operating system (SPARC®) and ORACLE's 10g Database®. Smaller footprint databases for x86 are no longer available as ORACLE has discontinued the availability of the ORACLE Application Server© for x86 processors. Additionally, the cost of SUN® sever implementations with ORACLE's STANDARD ONE Edition© have dropped dramatically. May 1st, 2006 Release 2.2 is now available on the ENTERPRISE platform with enhancements that continue to reduce the "Total Cost of Ownership", and increase the ROI of SCDS implementation. Feature #1 - ALL jobs are now in control of the business users and command table driven. The load on your TECHNOLOGY department has again been reduced. Feature #2 - Additional reports have been added now bringing the total to 25. Additional "parameters" have been added for sorting the data, including outlet type (Gas Stations, Hotels, etc.) and Zones, which summarize multiple routes assigned across demographics. Transactional based reports have also been added to monitor actual application usage by field users. Featue #3 - Modeling. Algorithms comparing RETURNS percentages against previous historical information for ACCURATELY forecasting "suggested draw levels" information has been implemented. Featue #4 - More tables, more information. SCDS now has the ability to regulate which EDITIONS BY OUTLET can have returns posted against them. Paid copies can now be differentiated from "sample" copies in the hand held device, and disallow returns against the DRAW. November 3rd, 2005 SCDS has continued to evolve. The powerful new features in release 2.1 put control of the system back in the hands of the CIRCULATION people. This significantly reduces the involvement of the Information Technology staff. Feature #1 - A new ORACLE COMMAND TABLE has been added that allows the CIRCULATION staff to change some of the scheduled background operations (CRON jobs, Automated Report generation times, etc) without needing access to the operating system. Feature #2 - All new color forms. Easier on the eyes. Color coded fields where specific information is critical. Feature #3 - Additional Reports added to the base system package. There are now over 20 standard reports included with every version. The Enterprise system also has embedded reports. March 20th, 2005 Update SCDS has been updated to include several new, significant features. The new release is designated as 2.03. Feature #1 - A replicated database is now available that extends the ORACLE database retention period. Modeling and analysis can now be performed over a period of years without an impact on the primary database generating delivery and circulation data to the field. The database is configured as "read only" to prevent users from unknowingly connecting to the wrong database and tampering with records. This assists with audit compliance. Feature #2 - Integration of ORACLE Application Server. SCDS now offers a complete infrastructure including ORACLE internet directory and management though the graphic interface provided by ORACLE. You can generate, schedule and monitor the system by a simple "point and click" operation. Feature #3 - A smaller footprint of Application server component is available for less powerful systems. The stand-alone "Forms and Reports" component permits complete web (http) access and services without the advanced management tools. Feature #4 - Several new features that enhance integration with NEASI-WEBER's DISCUS System have been added. Forms are now available that permit administrators to VIEW the contents of various log files without the need to open the logs in the operating system. These same forms can also be used to VIEW the contents of the actual IMPORT and EXPORT files from DISCUS.
